Men's Soccer Resumes Suspended Game at Roger Williams, Falls 2-0

BRISTOL, RI - Clark men's soccer (3-6-1) traveled back to Roger Williams (8-0-4) in a resumption of their game that was suspended on August 29 and dropped the match 2-0 to the Hawks on Monday afternoon from Bayside Field.  

How it Happened
  • First-year Brendan Stevenson tallied the first shot of the game that was stopped by Eliot Panaccione in the sixth minute before Tyler Jastrab opened the scoring for the Hawks off a feed from Dylan Robbins as the team trailed 1-0.
  • Senior Diego Marin stopped three shots over a 16-minute stretch before sophomore Richard Ogawa Jr. fired a shot on goal towards the bottom right corner that was saved as the Hawks took a 1-0 lead into the half.
  • To open the second half, seniors Mauro Perez Colon and Amechi Aduba each created chances that went to the center of the goal and were saved by Panaccione.
  • In the 60th minute, Robbins added to the Hawks lead to 2-0 with a goal off passes from Liam Blaisdell and Liam Farrell.
  • Marin tallied three more saves in the match and junior Carter Benoff attempted Clark's final shot attempt of the afternoon that was wide of the mark as the Cougars fell 2-0.

  • Clark attempted five shots (four on target), drew nine fouls, and earned five corner kicks.
  • Marin recorded seven saves.
  • Stevenson, Perez Colon, Ogawa Jr., and Aduba each attempted shots on target.
What's Next
The Cougars will return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Salem State for a contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
