MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Clark University field hockey senior Alison Kopec was named to the All-NEWMAC Field Hockey Second Team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

This yearly conference accolade is Kopec's first and marks the second straight year in which a Cougar was named to the All-NEWMAC Team, as Rachael Romain earned the honor last year. Kopec was also named NEWMAC Offensive Athlete of the Week earlier this year on September 15.

"Alison has left her mark on CUFH in many ways, and being recognized by the NEWMAC with an All-Conference nod is the cherry on top of her career as a Cougar," said head coach Laura-Ann Lane. "She is one of the most dedicated and hardworking players I have had the honor of coaching. She leads on and off the pitch with integrity and has earned the respect of each and every player she has shared the field with. She no doubt has left this program in a better place than when she found it."

Kopec (Redding, Conn.) led the team and the NEWMAC in assists with 10, dishing out an assist in nine different games. She also posted a team-high 24 points and shot attempts (91). The senior added seven goals, which was tied for third on the team, and tallied a three-goal effort in a win over UMass-Dartmouth. In a 3-1 NEWMAC win over Wellesley, Kopec recorded a goal and an assist.

Kopec ends her Clark career with 10 goals and 23 assists, totaling 43 points. The 23 career assists tie her for eighth all-time, and her 10 assists this season place her in a three-way tie for fifth all-time. She has also earned two All-NEWMAC Academic Team accolades in her career.
