Women's Lacrosse Falls to Colby-Sawyer

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (1-1) traveled to Colby-Sawyer (2-0) for their first road game of the year and dropped the contest 14-4 on Saturday afternoon from Ouellette Stadium.

How it Happened
  • Junior Elizabeth Cacciapaglia gave Clark an early 1-0 lead off a free position shot and despite a pair of saves from senior Annie Battle, the Chargers netted six unanswered goals to end the first.
  • Graduate student Greer McCarty created a chance after a caused turnover by fellow graduate student Mary Greene in the second quarter and saw her shot saved by AJ Paton and first-year Paige Kemish had a shot stopped before the half as Clark trailed 10-1.
  • Cacciapaglia caused a turnover early in the third before senior Erin Lucas fired a shot on target that was saved and with 7:31 to go in the quarter, Lucas found the back of the cage.
  • Lucas netted her second goal of the game off a feed from Cacciapaglia and first-year Sydney McMonagle found the back of the goal with 9:28 remaining to make it an 11-4 contest.
  • Lucas earned a free position attempt and put a shot on target that was stopped and created a chance late in the game that was saved as the Chargers prevailed.

  • Clark attempted 18 shots, forced 22 turnovers, scooped up 17 ground balls, won nine draw controls, and converted 13 clears.
  • Battle tallied six saves in net.
  • Lucas led the team with two goals and caused three turnovers.
