Women's Lacrosse Tops Regis 14-4

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (2-1) recorded their second victory of the season with a convincing 14-4 home win against Regis (1-1) on Saturday afternoon from Granger Field.

How it Happened
  • Senior Erin Lucas netted a man-down goal off a feed from first-year Paige Kemish to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead with 8:06 to go in the first quarter and before the end of the quarter senior Saorla Scully and senior Annie Battle both caused turnovers.
  • Kemish, first-year Morgan Glover, and senior Meghan Fogarty each put shots on goal that were saved by Allayna Martone as the Cougars took a 1-0 lead into the second quarter.
  • Fogarty scored a free position goal and Kemish found the back of the cage off a feed from first-year Sydney McMonagle as the scarlet and white as Clark took a 3-0 lead.
  • Regis netted two unanswered goals before Fogarty scored a pair of goals before the break as the Cougars held a 5-2 entering the break.
  • After the Pride scored a goal out of the half, Clark netted four unanswered goals as Lucas, graduate student Mary Greene, Kemish, and senior Aubrey Conners all scored to give the Cougars a 9-3 edge with 3:37 to play in the third.
  • Before the end of the third, Fogarty scored off a pass from Lucas as the scarlet and white took a 10-4 lead entering the fourth.
  • The Cougars closed the door on the Pride in the fourth quarter with four goals as Lucas, McMonagle, junior Elizabeth Cacciapaglia, and Fogarty to propel Clark to a 14-4 victory.
