CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Clark University women's lacrosse team (3-6, 1-2 NEWMAC) traveled to MIT (3-4, 2-0 NEWMAC) for a midweek conference game and were bested 23-1 by the Engineers on Wednesday night from Jack Barry Field.
How it Happened
- Senior Annie Battle stopped a pair of shots early in the game and senior Aubrey Conners fired a shot on goal that was saved by Pauline Vien.
- After seven unanswered from MIT, graduate student Greer McCarty also created a chance before the end of the first quarter that was stopped before Conners got Clark on the board with a goal late in the period as the Cougars trailed 7-1.
- Junior Elizabeth Cacciapaglia and senior Meghan Fogarty both fired shots on target and Battle stopped four shots in the second quarter as the Engineers led 12-1 at the break.
- In the third quarter, junior Victoria Holden tallied a pair of saves, while both senior Erin Lucas and sophomore Sarah Forester both put shots on goal that were stopped.
- Fogarty attempted a shot and McCarty caused a turnover in the fourth as the Cougars fell 23-1 to the Engineers.
