MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Clark University softball graduate student
Rebecca Mauro was named to the All-NEWMAC Second Team as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
NEWMAC Release
This marks the third time that Mauro has been named to the All-NEWMAC as she earned the recognition in 2023 and 2024.
"Rebecca has been the heart of our lineup and a leader on and off the field. Her consistency at the plate, especially in pressure moments, has been nothing short of remarkable," said head coach Katelyn Barton. "From opening the season with an RBI streak to delivering a walk-off homer against Babson, she's been clutch every step of the way. Rebecca's legacy is cemented in our record books, but even more so in the standard she's set for this program. We're incredibly proud of everything she's accomplished in a Cougar uniform."
Mauro, from Easton, Conn., led the Cougars in batting average (.411), OPS (1.098), runs (21), hits (44), doubles (12), RBI's (29), and total bases (64). She earned NEWMAC Athlete of the Week earlier this season and recorded 12 multi-hit games.
The graduate student opened the season with an RBI in each of her first seven games. In conference play, Mauro tallied multi-hit games against Wheaton, Smith, WPI, Springfield, and Babson. She belted a walk-off homer on April 30 to help the Cougars top Babson 5-4. In a 9-5 win over Smith, Mauro tallied three hits, three RBI's, two runs, a triple, and a double.
Mauro closes out her Cougar career with 144 career hits, 34 doubles, 84 RBI's, and a .368 batting average. She ranks eighth all-time in hits, tied for fifth in doubles, and eighth all-time in RBI's.
