WORCESTER, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (2-1-0) hosted their first home match of the season and were bested 3-0 by RIC (1-0-2) on Wednesday night from Granger Field.

How it Happened

• The Cougars defense fended off a corner in the seventh minute with a blocked shot before first-year Jacob Ordonez fired a shot that went wide of the mark in the 22nd minute.
• Clark blocked a pair of shots from Moise Augustin in the middle of the half and senior Diego Marin stopped his first shot of the game in the 37th minute.
• RIC took the lead in the 40th minute when Luizandro Sanches scored a penalty kick before the break and first-year Shahmeer Waseem created a chance that was saved in front of the net by Shane Merklein with just over one minute to play in the half as the Anchormen took a 1-0 edge into the break.
• Senior Ben Siegel nearly tied the game out of the half with a shot less than a minute into the second before Marin tallied another save in the 53rd minute.
• RIC added another penalty kick goal when Alijah Nunes stepped up and buried the kick to go up 2-0 and Marin recorded another save in the 69th minute.
• Clark earned one more corner before the end of the match and Sanches netted his second goal of the game as the scarlet and white fell 3-0.
