CLINTON, N.Y. – The Clark University volleyball team (0-3) competed in their first game of three this weekend with a match against Hamilton (2-2) and fell in straight sets to the Continentals on Friday night from the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House.
The scarlet and white dropped the first two sets 13-25 and lost the final set 17-25.
How it Happened
- In the middle of the first set, Clark rattled off five straight points as graduate student Isabella Smith and sophomore Abigail Venis tallied kills and junior Katelyn Williams recorded a service ace as they trailed 17-8.
- Junior Harper Chinn and Williams each added kills before the end of the first set as they fell 25-13.
- The Cougars took a 3-2 edge to open the second set sparked by block assists from sophomore Isabella Alcott and junior Winifred Gakidis as well as an Alcott kill.
- Alcott recorded a service ace shortly after before Williams tallied a pair of kills to pull Clark back within three at 11-8.
- After six straight Continental points, Alcott and Gakidis registered kills to end the run and before the end of the set junior Julia Dopazo recorded a service ace as they dropped the set 25-13.
- Gakidis and Williams opened the third set with a pair of kills before sophomore Hannah Harrington registered a service ace as the Cougars trailed 11-5.
- First-year Rylie Kimball, Smith, Williams, and Alcott added kills down the stretch as Clark fell 25-17 in the final set.
