Offense Blitzes Worcester State Early in 3-0 Victory

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University women's soccer (3-1-1) blitzed Worcester State (4-1-0) with three goals over the first 16 minutes of play as the scarlet and white registered a 3-0 victory on Tuesday night from Granger Field.

How it Happened
  • Graduate student Saige Frazier recorded a save in the seventh minute before first-year Calabria Augustino serviced a ball into the box and sophomore Georgia Louis kicked the ball into the back of the net as the Cougars took a 1-0 edge.
  • Louis netted her second goal of the match as she dribbled up the left side of the pitch and fired a shot to the right side of the net to extend the lead to 2-0 in the 13th minute.
  • Less than three minutes later, Louis found fellow sophomore Solimar Rivera in the box and Rivera added the Cougars' third goal of the match as the scarlet and white pushed the advantage to 3-0 in the 16th minute.
  • Frazier added a save off a shot from Ava Lemanski in the 18th minute before sophomore Selene Hammad nearly added a fourth goal with a header that went just wide of the mark.
  • Rivera hit the post in the 24th minute and put a head wide of the goal before the break as the Cougars took a 3-0 edge into the break.
  • Hammad hit the crossbar in the 60th minute off a short corner passed over by Louis and over the remainder of the contest, the Cougars held the Lancers without a shot on goal as they prevailed 3-0.

  • Clark recorded nine shots (three on target) and drew 10 fouls.
  • Louis registered her fourth and fifth goals of the year and fourth helper of the season, she has scored 11 career goals and eight assists.
  • Rivera netted her fourth goal of the season and attempted three shots.
  • Augustino dished out her second career assist.
  • Frazier tallied four saves.

The Cougars will return to the pitch on Saturday afternoon when they travel down Park Ave as they open NEWMAC play against Worcester State beginning at 1:00 p.m.
