Men's Soccer Drops Match Against Eastern Connecticut State

WORCESTER, Mass. - Clark men's soccer (3-2-1) welcomed Eastern Connecticut State (5-2-0) to Granger for a midweek contest against the Warriors and dropped the match 3-0 on Wednesday night.

How it Happened
  • Senior Ben Siegel recorded the first three shot attempts of the evening before Dominick Bugnacki scored off a feed from Sebastian Kadlof in the 13th minute to give the Warriors a 1-0 edge.
  • Clark's offense dominated the next 20 minutes as first-year Shahmeer Waseem, Siegel, and senior Mauro Perez Colon all created chances that were stopped by Jack Harmon.
  • Before the half, Siegel fired another shot on goal that was saved as the Cougars trailed 1-0 at the break.
  • Eastern Connecticut State extended their lead to 2-0 as Ben Syphrett scored off another Kadlof dish in the 49th minute.
  • Junior Carter Benoff nearly pulled Clark back within one with a shot that was saved by Aidan Peterson before junior Jaime Pedraza tallied his first save of the game in the 59th minute.
  • Waseem registered the Cougars next two shots on goal before both first-years Theo Massie-Vereker and Jacob Ordonez created chances in the middle of the second half.
  • Eliot Melgar netted the third goal of the contest for the Warriors in the 81st minute and over the remainder of the game, Massie-Vereker hit the crossbar and Ordonez had a shot saved as Clark fell 3-0.
