How it Happened

  • Coast Guard pulled away in the opening set with a pair of five-point runs, building a 19-7 lead.

  • The frame stayed close until another five-point surge by the Coast Guard created a 17-11 cushion.

  • The Cougars battled back to keep it tight, but the Bears held on to secure the set, 25-21.

  • The third set was another back-and-forth battle, with a block from junior Katelyn Williams and sophomore Abigail Venis evening the score at 9-9.

  • Coast Guard responded with a 10-4 run to build a 19-12 lead,

  • Clark clawed back once more off a kill by Harper Chinn and a block from Isabella Smith and freshman Ashlyn Moquin to cut the deficit to 23-21.
