BOSTON, Mass. – The Clark University women's soccer (5-3-0, 1-2-0 NEWMAC) traveled to Emerson (3-5-2, 1-2-0 NEWMAC) in a conference clash and were bested 2-1 by the Lions on Saturday afternoon from Rotch Field.
How it Happened
- Senior Gabrielle Huryn registered her first save of the afternoon in the sixth minute before Abby Cockerill found the back left side of the net off a feed from Finlee Mills in the eighth minute to give the Lions a 1-0 advantage.
- In the 34th minute, first-year Caroline Knecht found junior Solimar Rivera and Rivera fired a ball into the left corner of the net to tie the contest at 1-1.
- Huryn stopped a shot by Brady Campbell before the half as the teams entered the break tied at 1-1.
- Junior Georgia Louis nearly gave the Cougars a lead in the 57th minute with a shot towards the center of the net that was saved by Addie Costello.
- Huryn registered another save off a shot from Mills before sophomore Kory Lloyd fired a shot on goal that was stopped by Costello in the 68th minute.
- Kelsey Yoshikawa gave the Lions a lead off a rebounded shot in the 72nd minute and sophomore Calabria Augustino created the final chance of the afternoon in the 82nd minute that was saved as Emerson tallied a 2-1 victory.
