Men's Lacrosse Topped by Plymouth State

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University men's lacrosse team (0-5) welcomed Plymouth State (1-2) to Granger Field and were bested 9-3 by the Panthers.

How it Happened
  • Junior Josh Reno tallied a pair of saves over the first few minutes of action before Aiden Renner got the Panthers on the board with a goal a little over halfway through the first quarter.
  • After Plymouth State scored, junior Eric Aswad then cut the deficit in half with a goal off a feed from senior Lucas Cuda with 4:02 to go in the first.
  • Renner scored another goal before the end of the quarter and Aswad created another chance that was stopped by Ethan Schena as the Cougars trailed 3-1 entering the second quarter.
  • The Panthers added their fourth goal to open the second before junior Tate Gorman and senior Brett Newman each had shots saved.
  • Before the end of the quarter, Newman hit the post, junior Jack Insalaco had a shot saved, and senior Thomas Michaud sent a shot wide and both Insalaco and sophomore Thomas Sheehan caused turnovers as Clark trailed 4-1.
  • Michaud created a chance early in the third that was saved and both Gorman and Cuda caused turnovers before the Panthers netted three straight goals.
  • Michaud scored a man-up goal with 0:27 to go in the third and to start the fourth, Cuda found the back of the net as Clark trailed 7-3 with 12:41 remaining.
  • Reno added three goals before the end of the game, while junior John Golioto, Cuda, and Sheehan each caused turnovers as the Cougars fell 9-3.
