How it Happened
- Louis created space in the middle of the pitch before dishing it off to Rivera, who had her shot saved, then followed her own shot and found the back of the net to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute.
- Rivera nearly doubled the lead in the 12th minute and sophomore Kory Lloyd fired a shot on goal that was stopped by Ainsley Napolitano two minutes later.
- In the 24th minute, junior Selene Hammad created a chance that was saved before senior Ava Lepro registered her first save of the match off a shot from Meghan Hartnett.
- Rivera attempted Clark's last shot of the half that went wide left and Lepro tallied another save in the 44th minute as the scarlet and white led 1-0 heading into the second half.
- First-year Mia Thomas and Rivera each fired shots on goal that was stopped within the first seven minutes of the half.
- Napolitano sent a ball down the field that was headed by Hammad to Rivera, who found Louis up the sideline and she kicked the ball into the bottom right corner to extend the advantage to 2-0 in the 57th minute.
- In the 76th minute, Hammad intercepted a pass in the middle of the pitch and found first-year Caroline Knecht, who slid the ball into the bottom left corner of the goal to push the lead to 3-0.
- The Golden Bears cut the deficit to 3-1 in the 80th minute off a goal from Sophia Scyocurka before sophomore sophomore Marcela Gonyea nearly added another Cougar goal, but the shot was saved by Napolitano.
- Senior Gabrielle Huryn stopped a pair of shots within the last five minutes of action as the Cougars registered a 3-1 victory.
