Cumberland, Maine - The Clark University men's
and women's cross country teams finished 35th and 37th,
respectively, at the Division III Regional Championships hosted by
the University of Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon.
On the men's side, the Cougars were paced by the 88th-place finish
of graduate student Caleb
Evanter (Marblehead, Mass.). His time of 27:12 was
more than two minutes faster than his closest teammate -
Joe Kennelly (New Windsor, Conn.) - who crossed
the line at 29:31 in 213th position.
For the women, junior Heather Goodale (Middletown,
Conn.) wrapped up the race in 25:29, good for 157th place. The
other top finishers for Clark included a trio of freshmen in
Erika Roth (Saco, Maine), Zoe
Greenberg (Arlington, Mass.) and Sami
Vadakin (North Bennington, Vt.).
MIT and Middlebury tied for the women's team title and the
Engineers Jacqui Wentz took home the individual title. On the men's
side, Williams captured the team crown and the Ephs' Edgar Kosgey
claimed the men's individual title.
