Worcester, Mass. – Highlighted by three
top ten finishes the Clark men's and women's cross
country programs both finished third at the 2010 Worcester City
Championships on Saturday morning at Moore State Park in Paxton,
Mass.
The Cougar men were paced by Joe Kennelly (New
Windsor, N.Y.), who turned in a seventh place finish in a time of
30:18 over the five mile layout.
On the women's side both Zoe Greenberg
(Arlington, Mass.) and Isabel Burgess (Cumberland
Forside, Maine) crossed the line among the top ten.
For Greenberg, it marks her second straight city championship in
which she has turned in a top ten performance following last
seasons' fourth place finish. This year her seventh place
showing in the 5k race was 22:06, just a bit slower than her 21:31
of 2009.
Burgess, who was ninth, crossed the line in 22:18, four full
seconds ahead of the runner behind her.
Heather Goodale (Middletown, Conn.) was 15th
for Clark in a time of 22:49.
WPI swept both city titles, with the women winning their sixth
and the men capturing their 17th straight and 38th overall in the
44-year history of the event.
