Lincoln, R.I. – Sophomore Nathan Buck (Portland, Maine) had his highest finish since arriving at Clark and the women's team posted a second place finish at the Tri-State Invitational, hosted by the Community College of Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon.
Buck crossed the finish line in 26:58, good for third place in the 8K event. He was followed by Joe Kennelly (New Windsor, N.Y.) in sixth place (27:26), while Connor Joyce (Worcester, Mass.) rounded out the top three Cougar males in 15th place (29:41).
On the women's side, meanwhile, the Cougars continued their impressive runs during the 2011 season, this time finishing second. They were paced by the duo of Erika Roth (Saco, Maine) and Heather Goodale (Middletown, Conn.), with them wrapping up the 5K layout in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
For Roth, her time of 22:22 marked her second straight top five finish, while Goodale lands in the top five for the first time this season, crossing the line at 22:33.
Freshmen Maya Grevatt (Charlotte, Vt.) and Abby Grieco (Hardyston, N.J.) also had impressive showings, with Grevatt turning in a time of 22:59, placing 11th, while Grieco was 13th in 23:07.
Both Clark teams are back in action on Saturday when they take part in the James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University.
