North Dartmouth, Mass. – In preparation for next week's Worcester City Championships, both the Clark men's and women's cross country teams tuned up with solid performances at the UMass-Dartmouth Shriner's Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The men finished in 24th place in a field of 34, while the women were 17th in a field of 37 teams that featured squads from Division I, II, and III.
Nathan Buck (Portland, Maine) once again paced the Cougar men with his 53 rd place performance (26:38.77) over the 5k course.
He was followed by Joeseph Kennelly (New Windsor, N.Y.) in 131st place, who wrapped up the layout in 28:16.22.
On the women's side it was again the trio of Isabel Burgess (Cumberland Foreside, Maine), Erika Roth (Saco, Maine) and Heather Goodale (Middletown, Conn.) led the Clark women's contingent.
Burgess finished in 60 th place in a time of 20:14.09, while Roth was 80th, wrapping up the 5k course in 20:29.37, while Goodale turned in a 101st place showing (20:42.19).
The Worcester City Championships are slated for Saturday, September 24 at Moore State Park in Paxton, Mass.
