Westfield, Mass. – Freshman John Allard (Smithfield, R.I.) wrapped up an outstanding first season with an 85th place finish at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship on Saturday afternoon at Stanley Park.
Allard helped lead the Cougars to a 25th place showing out of 50 teams with his time of 26:46 over the 8K layout.
Middlebury, which had four runners finish in the top 25, claimed the overall championship. The NESCAC as a league did extremely well, with seven of the top eight finishing teams coming from their conference.
Graduate student Joe Kennelly (New Windsor, N.Y.) capped his collegiate career with a 132nd place finish in 27:32, Clark's second runner to cross the finish line.
Robert Gammell (Mattapoisett, Mass.) was third for the Cougars, ending his race in 27:48, while Nathan Buck (Portland, Maine) was next in 168th place, completing the course in 28:10.
Will Walker (Falmouth, Maine) completed the Clark scoring contingent with his finish in 252nd place with a time of 30:09.
