Box Score 2 Worcester, Mass. – Host Clark University banged out 28 hits and scored 27 runs as the Cougars rolled to a pair of victories on Saturday afternoon over Norwich University on Saturday afternoon at Granger Field.
Clark won the first contest 10-4 behind an 11-strikeout performance from Brian Sullivan (Auburn, Mass.) and then took the nightcap, 17-0 in support of a dazzling pitching performance from Andrew LeBlanc (Farmington, Conn.).
LeBlanc went the distance, tossing seven innings and allowing just two hits while striking out 12 for the second consecutive contest.
The Cougars scored four runs in the first of game one, highlighted by RBI doubles from Matthew Bohl (Amherst, Mass.) and Matt Asdornvuttikrai (Winchester, Mass.).
Bohl then drove a run in the second and knocked in two more in the fifth to lead the Clark offense.
Sullivan, meanwhile, went 5.1 innings allowing just four hits and three earned runs, to pick up his second win of the season.
Game two, was more of the same for Clark as got another strong pitching performance and season-highs of 17 hits and 17 runs.
Bohl led the way with four hits, while Nicholas Kellogg (Florence, Mass.) and Sullivan recorded three hits apiece.
Freshman Dan Lima (Manchester, Conn.) drove in a career-best four runs, while Asdornvuttikrai and Luke Carter (Brunswick, Maine) each drove in three runs.
Clark will return to the diamond on Tuesday when they play host to Nichols College at 3:00 p.m.
