MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Clark University baseball senior
Dom Mariani was named NEWMAC Baseball Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.
This is Mariani's first NEWMAC weekly accolade and is the second Cougar this year to earn the honor as senior
Michael Soares also was named Athlete of the Week.
Mariani (Walpole, Mass.) delivered a dominant offensive performance for the Cougars, hitting .600 with a 1.120 slugging percentage and .630 on-base percentage across five games. He recorded at least two hits in every contest, finishing the week with 15 hits, including four doubles and three home runs. Mariani drove in 17 runs and scored eight times, powering a Cougars offense that produced double-digit runs in three of five games.
On the season, Mariani is batting .387, with eight homers, 44 RBI's, 11 doubles, 46 hits, 36 runs, and a 1.164 OPS. The Cougars will return to action tomorrow when they close out their season series against MIT beginning at 7:00 p.m.
