Cougars Finish Fifth At Smith Invitational

Northampton, Mass. - Nathan Buck (Portland, Maine) recorded a 12th place finish, leading the Cougars to an impressive fifth place finish among ten teams at the Smith College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

In a preview of the course that will host the NEWMAC Championships in October, Buck completed the 8K layout wrapping up the course in 28:22.

He was followed by freshman John Allard (Smithfield, R.I.), who crossed the line in 24th place (29:12) and Rob Gammell (Mattapoisett, Mass.) in 25th place (29:23).

Joe Kennelly (New Windsor, N.Y.) and Jonah Naghi (Newton, Mass.) completed the Cougar scoring contingent, with Kennelly ending in 36th place (30:48) and Naghi posting a 43rd place (33:25) showing.  

The Cougars will have next Saturday off in preparation for the Worcester City Championships on Saturday, September 22.
