Clark Blanked By Fighting Scots, 9-0

Wenham, Mass. – Host Gordon College snapped its brief two-match slide with a 9-0 win over visiting Clark University in non-league women's tennis action on Tuesday.

After winning their season-opening match, the Cougars have now dropped four straight to fall to 1-4 overall.

Clark got its best performance in the doubles matches from With Sarah Sachs (Branford, Conn.) and Rose Burberry-Martin (Uxbridge, Mass.), but that duo was topped 8-2 by Caroline Hall and Cindy Flynn.

Jen Comi (Portland, Maine) and Rebecca Kravetz (Wayland, Mass.) were defeated 8-0 at No. 2 doubles by Lily Drescher and Tawnie Yeaw.

Singles play was much of the same as all four of the singles matches that were played were straight set victories for the Fighting Scots (4-3) highlighted by Hall's 6-0, 6-1 win over Sachs at No. 1.

The Cougars waste no time returning to action as they face Worcester city rival Anna Maria on Tuesday at home at 4:00 p.m.
