PROVIDENCE, RI – The Clark University women's tennis team (2-2-1) traveled to RIC (5-2) and were bested 7-0 by the Anchorwomen on Tuesday afternoon from the RIC Tennis Courts.

Doubles: RIC 3, Clark 0

• Seniors Varvara Maltseva and Olivia Shipley battled with Haylie Peacock and Faith Owren, taking four games before falling 4-6 in number one action.
• In number two doubles, juniors Larkin Gardinier and Amanda Keith won two games, but dropped their match 2-6.
• First-years Julia Hynd and Abby Aldridge Peacock took a game before falling 1-6 in number three play to Isabella Ba and Ivy Par.

Singles: RIC 6, Clark 0

• Shipley took the first set 6-3, dropped the second set 0-6, before being bested 7-10 in the tiebreak against Houwers in number three action.
• First-year Adeline Kontos won a combined seven games across two sets against Hadlock, but fell 3-6, 4-6 in number five.
• In number one action, Gardinier won three games in each set against Peacock as she dropped the match 3-6, 3-6.
• Maltseva took a pair of games in each set vs. DeThomas, but fell 2-6, 2-6 in number two play.
• Hynd also combined to win four games in number six action, but was bested 3-6, 1-6 by Par.
• In number four play, Keith dropped the match 1-6, 0-6 to Owren.

The Cougars will close out the fall with a home match against Bridgewater State on Tuesday, October 6 beginning at 3:30 p.m.
