Paxton, Mass. – Freshman Kelsey Herod (Lancaster, N.Y.) led the Clark university contingent of runners with a 16th place finish at the Worcester City Championships on Saturday morning at Moore State Park.
Herod completed the 5K course layout in 22:20, an average of 7:11 per mile.
WPI sophomore Julie Tevenan claimed the championship title when she finished the course in 19:46.
Saraneh Fitzgerald crossed the finish line in 23:16 (25th) to give the Cougars two top 25 performances at the event.
Heather White (Brookline, Mass.) and Alex Jeannotte (Agawam, Mass.) were right on each other's heels, coming in nearly side-by-side, with White posting a 29 th place showing in 23:37 and Jeaonette collecting 30th place honors in a time of 23:42.
Caroline Johnson (Roslindale, Mass.) was Clark's fifth runner to wrap up the race, turning in a time of 24:34.
Clark will return to action on Saturday, October 12 when they take part in the James Earley Invitational.
