Worcester, Mass. – Visiting Rhode Island College improved to 2-0 with a convincing 8-1 win over host Clark University in non-league women's tennis action on Tuesday afternoon at the Corash Tennis Courts.
After defaulting at No. 3 doubles, the Cougars also lost at No.1 where Sadie Campanella (Chepachet, RI) and Jorgie Martin (Smithfield, R.I.) topped Rebecca Kravetz (Wayland, Mass.) and Kera Snyder (Portland, Maine), 8-4.
RIC completed the doubles sweep when Julie Reddy (Greenville, R.I.) and Noelle Tiberi (Smithfield, R.I.) downed Ellie Bakalchuk (Newton, Mass.) and Jen Comi (Norwich, Vt.), 8-1.
Clark's lone win on the afternoon came at No. 1 singles where Sarah Sachs (Branford, Conn.) outlasted Campanella 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5).
The Cougars (1-1) will turn their attention to Saturday when they host Simmons College, while Rhode Island College will visit Salve Regina on Thursday.
