Westfield, Mass. – In an extremely competitive field, Clark University had a quartet of top 100 runners and the Cougars finished with a 12th place team showing at the 20th annual James Earley Invitational on Saturday morning at Stanley Park.
Sophomore Alex Hull (Mount Laurel, N.J.) crossed the finish line first for the Scarlet and White in 32nd place in a time of 27:21.
He was closely followed by John Allard (Smithfield, R.I.), who posted a time of 27:26 over the 8K course layout.
Clark's third scoring runner was Rhys Duquette (Holyoke, Mass.) and his time of 28:09 was good enough for 60th place overall.
Ryan Van Dine (Bolton, Conn.) and Seamus O'Connor (Granby, Mass.) rounded out the Cougars' top five performers as Van Dine record a time of 28:14 and O'Connor notched a finish of 28:49.
The Cougars are back in action next Saturday when they take part in the Connecticut College Invitational.
