Box Score Worcester, Mass. – Framingham State star Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) registered a monster performance and the visiting Rams reserved a spot in the championship game of the 2015 Clark Alumni Holiday Invitational with an 85-72 win over the host Cougars on Wednesday evening at the Kneller Athletic Center.
Rackliffe racked up 22 points, 16 rebounds and seven blocks as Framingham State improved to 7-3 and have now won four of their last five games.
For the Scarlet and White, meanwhile, they see their losing streak move to seven straight and now sit at 2-8 ahead of Thursday's consolation contest against Anna Maria at 12:00 p.m.
After a first quarter that saw the Rams lead 23-22, their lead moved to 41-33 at halftime courtesy of Monta Connolly (Lynn, Mass.), who ended the first 20 minutes with 14 points and eight boards.
Clark was able to stay relatively close with the play of Gwyneth Ivory (Ashland, Mass.) and Haley Wilder (Rindge, N.H.) as they combined for 14 of their own.
Rackliffe, took over in the second half, scoring 18 of her points – mostly on smooth interior finishes.
With Connolly and Rackliffe leading the way, the Rams controlled the interior, outscoring Clark 42-16 in the paint.
Clark, meanwhile, was done in by turnovers, committing 31 miscues that lead directly to 28 Framingham State points.
Connolly aided Rackliffe's performance with a double-double of her own, totaling 20 points and ten rebounds, while Quinn O'Connell (Sterling, Mass.) chipped in with ten points and eight assists and Raegan Mulherin (Baldwinville, Mass.) added 13.
The Scarlet and White were paced by Ivory, Wilder and Aretha Sullivan (Worcester, Mass.), who all finished with 11 points and Sam O'Gara (Worcester, Mass.) who added ten points, five rebounds and seven assists.
Framingham State will face Southern Maine tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
