Paxton, Mass. — With a sweep through all doubles matches, Clark University snapped its three match losing streak with a convincing 8-1 win over Worcester-area rival Anna Maria on Tuesday afternoon at the Paxton Sports Centre.
The win sees the Cougars' record improve to 2-3 overall, while the AMCATS dip to 1-3.
Isabelle Long (Bellevue, Wash.) teamed up with Adrien Horowitz (Arvada, Colo.) to best Nicola Zamira and Morgan Rodriguez, 8-1.
That was followed up by Rebecca Kravetz (Wayland, Mass.) and Kera Snyder (Portland, Maine) wasting little time with Callie Mulcahy and Ashley Fernandes, 8-3 at No. 2.
Bichtroan Nguyen (Worcester, Mass.) and Stephanie Gallant (Charlton, Mass.) then made quick work of their opponents – Marissa Leonard and Jessica Palmer – 8-1 at No. 3.
Anna Maria's lone win came at No. 2 singles where Zamira downed Kravetz, 6-2, 6-4.
Everywhere else the Scarlet and White was victorious, including at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, where Horowitz and Misa Mai (Sanford, Maine) each posted 6-1, 6-1 triumphs.
Amy Fallon (Derby, England) got in on the act with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Leonard at No. 5 and Ye Jung Kim (Gardner, Mass.) also picked up a win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Laura Cabral at No. 6.
The Cougars are back in action on Thursday when they host Worcester-area rival Becker College at 5:00 p.m.
