Clark Competes in NEWMAC Cross Country Championship

Dorchester, Mass.--The Clark University men's and women's cross country teams ran in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship on Sunday, October 29th at Franklin Park in Dorchester, Mass. The men's team placed 7th overall while the women finished in 9th.

Senior Alex Hull (Mount Laurel, N.J.) finished the 8K first for Clark placing 50th overall in a time of 28:16. Senior Ryan VanDine (Boton, Conn.) crossed in a time of 29:14 and his classmate Cameron Mitchell (Medford, Mass.) was right behind him at 29:20 to round out the top three for Clark.

On the women's side junior Liza French (Middleborough, Mass.) checked in first for Clark in a time of 20:11 for 36th place overall. Sophomore Nicolina Braccio (Nashua, N.H.) posted a personal best time finishing the 5K in 20:29. Junior Maddy Doyle (South Berwick, Maine) and senior Kristen Glennie (Standish, Maine) finished back to back in 20:32 and 20:33 respectively.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Engineers took home the championship title on both the men's and women's sides. This was the MIT women's cross country team's 11th consecutive NEWMAC championship title. The MIT men's cross country team claimed its 20th straight NEWMAC Championship with a total of 18 points over the 8K course.
