Babson Park, Mass.— Babson College turned Clark University's 28 turnovers into a whopping 30 points and the host Beavers sprinted past the Cougars, 86-50, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at Staake Gymnasium.

For The Foes:
The Beavers had five players in double figures, led by Giovanna Pickering (Hull, Mass.) and Taylor Russell (Braintree, Mass.), who both had 16. Tea Spellacy (Belchertown, Mass.) scored a career-high 15 points to go along with four boards and four assists, while Emily Bonifacic (Allendale, N.J.) contributed 13 points and five boards for the Beavers. 

Clark Stars:
Ogechi Ezemma (Hope Valley, R.I.) finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, while Sam O'Gara (Worcester, Mass.) chipped in with 11 points for the Cougars. 

How It Happened:
The Green and White jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead and got six points apiece from Lane and Spellacy on its way to building a 23-13 lead after one quarter. Lane and Hannah Metcalf (Middlebury, Conn.) hit back-to-back three-pointers to make it 29-15 less than two minutes into second, and Metcalf buried two more triples following an 11-0 Clark run to give the Beavers a 35-28 advantage at the 6:18 mark.

Jennifer Narlee (Medfield, Mass.) sandwiched a layup in between a pair of hoops by Russell, and Pickering knocked down two free throws to give Babson a 45-32 edge at the break.

Two straight buckets by Bonifacic pushed the margin to 17 early in the third quarter, and the Green and White broke the game open with a 21-1 run that spanned parts of both the third and fourth quarters.

Bonifacic and Spellacy each went 2-of-2 at the free throw line late in the third, Pickering drilled a corner three-pointer to open the fourth and Bonifacic converted her own steal into a layup to make it 68-46 with 8:28 to go in the game. Russell followed a jumper by Spellacy with a three-pointer, and Spellacy knocked down two free throws to extend the margin to 77-46 with 5:34 left. 

Inside The Boxscore:
The Green and White shot 41.5 percent overall and 10-of-19 (52.6 percent) from beyond the arc, which included a 7-of-8 effort in the first half.

The Cougars shot a frigid 29.3 percent and were just 4-of-23 (17.4 percent) from downtown.
