Records: Clark University 6-2; Wittenberg University 1-3
Location: Lake Myrtle Field #1, Auburndale, Fla.

How It Happened:
The Cougars pounded out 14 hits and scored the game's final 11 runs of the contest. They went ahead 2-0 in the second inning on a Derek Lefebvre (Groton, Mass.) single through the left side and a Jake Vera (Plainview, N.Y.) sacrifice fly.

Wittenberg did get to Slepkow in the top of the third when a base hit and error were followed by a high chopper that found no man's land, and that pushed across the Tigers' lone run of the game.

After a third inning that only saw then get one run back on a sacrifice fly, the Cougars exploded for five runs in the fourth.

Nick Jordan (Seaford, N.Y.) led off the inning with a double but was picked off by Wittenberg pitcher Aaron Goodpaster. The Cougars then strung together back-to-back singles that chased Goodpaster – and then the flood gated opened. First, Kyle Shaw (Litchfield, N.H.) doubled, bringing home two and then David Rotando (Hastings, N.Y.) followed that with a double of his own, scoring Shaw.

Kyle Bonicki (Waterbury, Conn.) then smoked a triple to the gap in right center and he came home on a Teddy Downing (Cambridge, Mass.) double.

The Cougars added on another run – this one unearned in the fifth and then put the game away with two in the sixth. Jordan redeemed himself with a double to left center that put him and Andrew Thibault (Nashua, N.H.) in scoring position. Lefebvre brought in one run on a sacrifice fly and then the game's final runs came on the two-run homer by Jake Vera (Plainview,, N.Y.).
