-Clark loses to the Division 1 Holy Cross Crusaders in a sweep Wednesday afternoon. The cross-Worcester matchup saw the Crusaders win by a score of 9-0.
How It Happened
-On the singles side, Elizabeth Garfield (Cape Elizabeth, ME) went down 6-1, 6-0 in No. 1 singles to Allison Reiling.
-In No. 2 singles, Sophia Papa of Holy Cross defeated Elizabeth Tchantouri (Northfield, VT) 6-0, 6-0. The same fate fell upon Senior Maggie Tarbox (Lebanon, CT) who lost in No.3 singles to Madeline DeNucci.
-At the No. 4 and No. 5 singles, Kathryn Benson (Hudson, MA) and Chloe Dunnell (Montclair, NJ) both were beaten by their opponents 6-0, 6-0. Jennifer Kary and Caroline Kam were the Crusader victors.
-In the No. 6 singles match, Zahara Shidad (Lewiston, ME) fought to a 6-1, 6-0 at the hands of Alexandra Smith.
-Doubles went the Crusaders way as well with Reiling and Kam winning in No. 1 singles over Garfield and Tchantouri 8-1. Tarbox and Dunnell's efforts came to no avail and were dealt an 8-2 defeat to No. 2 partners Papa and Morgan McGuire. At the No. 3 doubles spot, Cougar duo Benson and Kathryn Landahl (Brookfield, Ill) were swept 8-0.
