Bridgewater, Mass. - On Saturday afternoon, the Clark University Women's Swimming and Diving team lost on the road to Bridgewater State. The Bears escaped with a win, only beating Clark by eight points, with a final score of 138 to 130. Clark was anchored by the strong effort of Alison Falder (New Milford, Conn) who won three events for the women: the 1000 Yard Freestyle, the 500 Yard Freestyle, and the 200 Yard IM.

Falder wasn't the only Cougar to win races though. Quinn Mitchell (West Hartford, Conn)  took home two big wins—the 200 Yard Butterfly, and the 100 Yard Butterfly, while also finishing second in the 200 Yard Freestyle.

Elizabeth Cownie (Concord, Mass), and Allison Dubick (Cornwall, NY) also won races. Cownie finished first in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, with a final time of 1:18.45, and Dubick took first in the 100 Yard Freestyle.

Clark also took first place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay behind the strong effort of Amelia Muratori (Southbury, Conn), Liz Cownie, Quinn Mitchell, and Allison Dubick. The Cougars hit the wall at 1:59.00, staving off their opponents who finished at 2:00.58

Additionally, Anna Gilmartin (East Quogue, NY) competed and won the 1 mtr dive for Clark and finished with a score of 117.70

Coach Paul Phillips acknowledge the strong effort of his team stating, "[We] dropped a close meet with several close races, but it was hard fought all the way. Always great spirit from both teams when we compete with Bridgewater."

The Cougars return to action Saturday, November 17th against NEWMAC foe Babson College.
