Norton, Mass.-- Clark's Women's Tennis team was defeated today, falling 9-0 to Wheaton College. The match was held at Wheaton and the home team was ready to go right from the start. Clark slips to 2-7 on the season and Wheaton is now 3-5.
Singles:
-Anna Gates (North Scituate, RI) was defeated 6-0, 6-0 by her Wheaton counterpart at No. 1 singles.
-No. 2 singles went to the Lyons in straight sets as well. Elizabeth Garfield (Cape Elizabeth, ME) was the competitor for Clark.
-Clark's Elizabeth Tchantouridze (Northfield, VT) fell in her No. 3 match which went only two sets.
-Connor O'Keefe of Wheaton scored a victory at the No. 4 position. She won 6-1, 6-1 over Clark Senior, Maggie Tarbox (Lebanon, CT).
-Chloe Dunnell (Montclair, NJ) could not find her rhythm in the No. 5 match. Wheaton's Allison Burton won in straight sets.
-Lilly Meadows of Clark brought her competitive No. 6 singles match to three sets. She eventually fell to her challenger 4-6, 6-4, 4-10.
Doubles:
-Tarbox and Jillian Skulsky (Marshfield, MA) lost 8-1 to their opponents in the No. 1 doubles match.
-Clark duo Gates and Garfield lost their No. 2 match by a score of 8-1 as well.
-Zahara Shidad (Lewiston, ME) and Kaylyn Landahl (Brookfield, IL) competed in No. 3 doubles and fell 8-2.

-Clark's next match is another conference opponent. Wellesley College comes to Clark on Tuesday, April 2nd for a 4:00PM match-up at Clark's Corash Tennis Courts.
-Wheaton also plays a NEWMAC school on April 2nd. Their opponent is Mount Holyoke and that match takes place at Wheaton at 4:30PM.
