Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University women's basketball team dropped a contest against Emerson on Wednesday night with the Lions cruising to an 86-64 final in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) bout at the Kneller Athletic Center.

How it Happened
Junior Hannah Favaloro (Blackstone, Mass.) posted a team-high 13 points while bringing down nine rebounds to go with her four steals.
Sophomores Emily Sifferlen (North Andover, Mass.) and Sarah Zambrano (South San Francisco, Calif.) contributed 12 points apiece. Sophomore Ginny Benbow (Durham, Conn.) collected 10 points to round out the double-figure scorers for Clark.
For Emerson, Rachel Davey and Katie Foultz combined for a total of 27 points. They were accompanied by Sam Boyle who finished with 12 points and Natalie Clydesdale 13 and Chloe Allen with 10. This includes all of the Engineer players to reach double digits as they went on to collect the win.
Emerson opened up the game with an early lead but it wasn't long before a lay-up from Favaloro at the 4:27 mark of the quarter gave Clark its first lead in the contest at 11-10. The Lions would Both teams had five different scoring players as Clark held onto the lead of 19 to 17 at the end of the first quarter.
The Lions picked up the pace in the second frame to overtake the Cougs lead in the opening minutes of the quarter. Clark battled until the end of the opening half before Emerson hit its stride with a 9-0 scoreless run over the last 3:43 on the clock giving the visitors a 41-28 lead. Strong performances by Davey with 10 points and Foultz with 12 helped the Lions secure the first-half advantage.
Emerson added to its lead to start the third quarter making three shots beyond the arc adding nine points to Clark's two. In the third quarter, the purple and gold went on to hit 87.5% of their free throws with 7-of-8 in the stanza.
Clark made a strong impact in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter, outscoring their opponent by a tally of 9-2. But, Emerson elevated its game once again, closing out the game with a NEWMAC conference win of 86-64.
Clark finished 20-of-56 from the field (35.7%) while connecting on 6-of-23 from the three-point range in the contest. Emerson knocked down 34-of-64 from the field (53.1%) while hitting on 5-of-16 scoring chances from beyond the arc.
