Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark women's basketball team (6-10, 0-4 NEWMAC) fell to Coast Guard (9-6, 2-2 NEWMAC) by a 72-60 margin on Wednesday night from the Kneller Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- Graduate student Hannah Favaloro netted Clark's first five points with a pair of free throws and a three-pointer and a jumper from sophomore Jacqueline Faulise tied the game at 7-7 with 5:11 left in the first quarter.
- Junior Sarah Zambrano paced the Cougars offense the rest of the quarter with four points and Favaloro added three more as the teams were tied 16-16 after one.
- Senior Emily Sifferlen and Favaloro each made jumpers early in the second quarter before a three-pointer from sophomore Emma Levesque pulled Clark within two at 25-23 with 5:46 left in the second quarter.
- After Coast Guard pushed the lead to as many as 10 before a Sifferlen and-one layup and a Faulise three pulled Clark within seven and four more points from Favaloro before the break helped Clark get within six at 41-35 at the half.
- First-year Megan Swedberg and Sifferlen each made layups to get within two and a Favaloro three got Clark back within one at 43-42 with 6:41 left in the third before Coast Guard scored the next nine points in the contest.
- Sifferlen ended the run with two free throws before Favaloro made a pair of layups at the end of the quarter as Coast Guard led 55-48.
- Favaloro and sophomore Alaina Schatzabel each made layups to get back within three at 55-52 before falling behind by 11 at 65-54 with 2:23 remaining.
- Sifferlen added three points down the stretch and sophomore Mariah Harris made a layup as the Bears came away with a 72-60 win.

- Sifferlen added 14 points and six rebounds.
- Clark grabbed 44 rebounds, dished out 16 assists, recorded nine steals, and forced 18 turnovers.
