BRUNSWICK, Me. – The Clark University women's cross country team finished their 2022 season on Saturday morning when they competed in the 6k event at the NCAA Regionals.
The Cougars finished 24th overall out of 35 teams in the field.

Amazing day for the Cougars! The women started the race with the sky opening up and absolutely down pouring. They experienced the full gamete of weather ending with sunny skies! Despite the muddy course conditions, 5 cougars ran course PRs! Ruby ran a time of 22:43.57 beating her pre-regionals time by 22 seconds! She ran an incredibly strategic race to place 8th overall, the highest a Cougar has ever placed in the region. She finished with all region and all New England honors! Ruby has solidified that she will be the first Cougar going to NCAA's! The official qualifiers to be released Sunday before 3 pm. Lily ran an incredible race unleashing her famous kick passing a massive kick the last 100 meters! Abby ran a phenomenal and strategic race! Emmy bested her pre-regional time by 5 seconds and perfected her race strategy! Siobhan ran a gritty race persevering through the mud! Meg bested her pre regionals time by a full minute! She ended the season on a massive PR! Wynne also bested her regionals time by 5 seconds! She looked strong and smooth throughout the entirety of the race!
How it Happened
- Sophomore Ruby Krasnow finished with All-Region honors as she placed eighth overall with a time of 22:43.6 in the 6k event, which was ahead of Lauren Pollak (22:44.6) of Tufts and Rachel Brennan of Gordon.
- Krasnow's time should be good enough to place her in Nationals next week.
- Fellow sophomore Lily Carey placed second on the team and 118th overall in the 6k event with a mark of 25:56.7.
- First-year Abigail Gahagan finished third on the team and 156th overall with a time of 27:48.7.
- Fellow first-year Emmy Udry (27:58.8) and first-year Siobhan Connolly (28:29.9) placed fourth and fifth on the team.
- Junior Megan Gohn (28:34.0) and sophomore Wynne Dromey (30:59.6) rounded out Clark's top seven.
What's Next
Krasnow will wait to see if she qualified for the NCAA Championships by the end of the weekend and if she does, the NCAA Championships are Saturday, November 19 from Forest Akers in Lansing, Michigan.
