LaCroix Wins at No. 2 Singles Against Springfield

WORCESTER, Mass.- Clark (4-7, 0-3 NEWMAC) lost 8-1 to Springfield (9-4-1, 2-2 NEWMAC) from the Corash Tennis Courts Tuesday. Senior Grayson LaCroix took the lone point for the scarlet and white at No. 2 singles.

Doubles

• The Pride picked up two convincing points and No. 1 and 3 doubles. Sophomore Hannah Russo and first-year Leilani Brown played No. 1 doubles for Clark, while junior Nardin Sayoufi and first-year Emily Anderson represented at No. 3.

• At No. 2 doubles senior Grayson LaCroix and first-year Emma Allen had the most success for Clark at doubles in an 8-4 loss.

Singles

• Allen and Sayoufi lost to clinch the match for the Pride at No. 5 and 6 singles.

• Russo, Brown, and junior Maeve McEnroe each found some success and had competitive losses at No. 1, 3, and 5 singles.

• LaCroix would take the lone point of the day for the Cougars. After losing a tiebreaker to drop the first set, the senior did what she does best, stage a comeback. Consistency and deep ground strokes would lead LaCroix to win a 7-5 second set, and eventually, take the third-set tiebreak 10-5 to get Clark on the board.
