WELLESLEY, Mass.- Clark (4-5, 0-1 NEWMAC) dropped their NEWMAC opener to No. 40 Wellesley (4-3, 1-0 NEWMAC) by a score of 9-0 Saturday from the Wellesley tennis courts.
Doubles
• Clark was shut out at both No. 1 and 3 doubles by the Blue. Senior Grayson LaCroix and junior Andrea Osses Konig played for the Cougars at No. 1 against the No. 9 ranked doubles team in the Northeast while juniors Maeve McEnroe and Nardin Sayoufi represented the scarlet and white at No. 3.
• At No. 2 doubles Clark's duo of sophomore Hannah Russo and first-year Leilani Brown found some success against their Wellesley counterparts, losing 8-3.
Singles
• Russo and Brown were both defeated at No. 1 and No. 3 singles sealing the win for Wellesley.
• At No. 2 singles LaCroix was able to stay close and dropped a 6-3 first set before being blanked in the second against No. 25 in the Northeast Michaela Markwart.
• Osses Konig, McEnroe, and Sayoufi were all defeated in straight sets giving Wellesley a clean sweep.
What's Next
Clark will host Babson on Tuesday for their next NEWMAC matchup. That match takes place at Corash Tennis Courts at 3 p.m.
