Women's Tennis Downed By Smith

NORTHAMPTON, Mass.- Smith (7-6, 3-4 NEWMAC) gave a short-handed Clark (4-11, 0-7 NEWMAC) a 9-0 loss on Tuesday.

Doubles

• Clark forfeited No. 3 doubles due to a lack of players.

• The Pioneers won both No. 1 and 2 doubles convincingly. Junior Liliya Georgista and sophomore Hannah Russo played No. 1 doubles while junior Nardin Sayoufi and first-year Emma Allen played No. 2.

Singles

• Smith won No. 6 singles by forfeit.

• The Pioneers had thorough wins at No. 1, 4, and 5 singles. Russo, Allen, and first-year Amy Marin played for the scarlet and white.

• Georgista fought hard and made her opponent work, and while the 6-1, 6-1 score appears lopsided, the junior sent many games to deuce and never stop running her opponent around the court.

• Sayoufi had the most success of anyone in a 6-1, 6-3 loss.
