Babson Overpower Women's Tennis

WORCESTER, Mass.- Clark women's tennis (4-6, 0-2 NEWMAC) was defeated 9-0 at the hands of No. 12 in the Northeast Babson (5-6, 1-0 NEWMAC). 

Doubles

• At No. 2 doubles junior Andrea Osses Konig and first-year Leilani Brown got a couple of games off of Babson in an 8-2 loss.

• Babson had clean sweeps at No. 1 and 3 doubles. Senior Grayson LaCroix and sophomore Hannah Russo played for Clark at No. 1 doubles while junior Nardin Sayoufi and first-year Emma Allen played at No. 3.

Singles

• Russo fought hard against No. 8 in the Northeast Olivia Soffer for Babson. Despite losing 6-0, 6-2, the sophomore made impressive adjustments in the second set to find games against a tough-level opponent.

• LaCroix, Osses Konig, Brown, and Sayoufi lost in straight sets at No. 2, 3, 4, and 6 singles for Clark.

• At No. 5 singles, junior Maeve McEnroe played a shortened eight-game pro set and used consistency to pick up a pair of games in the 8-2 loss.

What's Next

Clark has the weekend off and returns to action next Tuesday in a home match against Springfield. That match begins at 3:30 from the Corash Tennis Courts.
