NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Clark University women's cross country placed 12th overall at the 2023 NEWMAC Championships on Saturday afternoon from Smith College.
MIT won the NEWMAC Championship, with Coast Guard, WPI, Smith, and Wellesley rounding out the top five.

How it Happened
- Junior Lily Carey led the scarlet and white with a mark of 27:37.5, which placed 76th overall.
- Sophomore Abigail Gahagan placed second on the squad with a time of 29:58.1, which was good for 106th overall.
- Sophomore Siobhan Connolly (30:00.1) finished just behind Gahagan and 107th overall.
- Senior Sophia Oomen-Lochtefeld (31:49.0) and junior Wynne Dromey (33:00.8) placed fourth and fifth among the Cougars.
- Rounding out the top seven were first-years Fatima Soussi (33:39.7) and Emma Larson (33:58.4).
- First-year Lily Vincent (34:46.0) also competed for Clark.

Clark will return to action on Saturday, November 11 at the NCAA Regionals from Hopkinton, N.H., at 11:00 a.m.
