WELLESLEY, Mass. – The Clark University women's tennis team (1-2, 0-1 NEWMAC) dropped their NEWMAC opener against Wellesley (1-4, 1-0 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon from the Wellesley Tennis Courts.
How it Happened
- Junior Hannah Russo and senior Liliya Georgitsa paired up in number one doubles and fell 8-1 to Melinda Alviar and Annissa Mu.
- Sophomore Leilani Brown and first-year Merielle Kane competed in number two doubles and seniors Nardin Sayoufi and Maeve McEnroe dropped their matches 8-0 to the Blue.
- Sophomore Emma Allen took a game in the first set of number six singles and won three games in the second set, but was edged 6-1, 6-3 by Daniela Chiarini.
- In number one singles, Brown took a game in the second set, but fell 6-0, 6-1 to Mu.
- Sayoufi won a game in the first set in number four singles before falling 6-1, 6-0 to Christian DeAgazio.
- Georgitsa (No. 2), McEnroe (No. 3), and Kane (No. 5) also competed in singles.
What's Next
Clark will be back in action on Tuesday with a road contest at Babson beginning at 3:30 p.m.
