Women's Tennis Drops Match to MIT

Worcester, Mass. – The Clark women's tennis team (1-6, 0-5 NEWMAC) faced the MIT Engineers  (11-3, 6-1 NEWMAC) and dropped the match 9-0 on Saturday afternoon from the Corash Tennis Courts.

How it Happened

  • Junior Hannah Russo and senior Liliya Georgitsa won a game at number one doubles before falling 8-1 to Lu and Pertsemlidis.

  • Sophomore Leilani Brown dropped both sets 6-0, 6-1 to Pertsemlidis at number one singles. 

  • In number two doubles, sophomore Leilani Brown and first-year Merielle Kane dropped their match 8-0 to Vincent and Kolli.

  • Kane won a game over two sets in number five singles before falling 6-1, 6-0 to Castelino.

  • Georgitsa (No. 2), McEnroe (No. 3), Sayoufi (No. 4), and Allen (No. 6) fell in straight sets in singles play. 

  • Sayoufi and McEnroe dropped their match in straight sets at number three doubles to Castelino and Pados.

What's Next

Women's tennis will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Smith College for a conference match beginning at 4:00 p.m.
