NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Clark University women's tennis team (1-7, 0-6 NEWMAC) traveled to Smith (7-5, 4-3 NEWMAC) for a conference contest on Tuesday afternoon and dropped the match 9-0 from the Smith Outdoor Tennis Courts.
How it Happened
- In number three doubles, sophomore Emma Allen and senior Nardin Sayoufi battled with Joyce and Maffa and won six games, but fell 8-6.
- Sophomore Leilani Brown and first-year Merielle Kane came away with two games in number two doubles before falling 8-2 to Felix and Monos.
- In number one singles, senior Liliya Georgitsa and junior Hannah Russo competed against Goshgarian and Goshgarian.
- Georgitsa won a pair of games in the second set against Goshgarian before falling 6-0, 6-2.
- Brown (No. 1), Kane (No. 5), and first-year Crisi Patel (No. 6) each lost their matches 6-0, 6-1.
- Senior Maeve McEnroe (No. 3) and Sayoufi (No. 4) also competed in singles.
