Women's Tennis Falls to Babson on Sunday

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Clark women's tennis team (1-3, 0-2 NEWMAC) traveled to Babson for a road NEWMAC contest against Babson (8-0, 3-0 NEWMAC) and dropped the match 9-0 on Sunday afternoon from the Babson Tennis Courts.

How it Happened

  • Junior Hannah Russo and senior Liliya Georgitsa won a game at number one doubles before falling 8-1 to Soffer and Cristiani.

  • Senior Nardin Sayoufi dropped both sets 6-0, 6-1 to Campos at number four singles. 

  • In number two doubles, sophomore Leilani Brown and first-year Merielle Kane collected one game against Fernandez and Stasiowski before dropping the match 8-1.

  • Kane won a pair of games over two sets in number five singles before falling 6-0, 6-2 to Starcher.

  • Brown (No. 1), Georgitsa (No. 2), senior Maeve McEnroe (No. 3), and sophomore Emma Allen (No. 6) fell in straight sets in singles play. 

  • Sayoufi and McEnroe dropped their match in straight sets at number three doubles to Campos and Mann.

What's Next

Women's tennis will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Springfield for a conference match beginning at 3:30 p.m.
