Women's Tennis Closes Out Season With Loss at Wheaton

NORTON, Mass. – The Clark University women's tennis team (1-9, 0-8 NEWMAC) closed out their season with a road match at Wheaton (4-13, 2-6 NEWMAC) and dropped the match 9-0 from the Clark Tennis Courts on Saturday afteroon.

How it Happened

  • In number one singles, junior Hannah Russo and senior Liliya Georgitsa battled with Greenlee and Ortiz and won five games, but fell 8-5.
  • Seniors Nardin Sayoufi and Maeve McEnroe earned a pair of games in number three doubles, but dropped the match 8-2.
  • Sophomore Leilani Brown and first-year Merielle Kane fell 8-1 in number two doubles.
  • Brown (No, 1) and Georgitsa (No. 2) each won six total games across two sets and dropped their respective matches 6-2, 6-4.
  • Sayoufi (No. 4) and sophomore Emma Allen (No. 6) each collected three games, but fell 6-3, 6-0.
  • Kane (No. 5) won a pair of games in the first set before dropping the second set 6-0.
  • McEnroe closed out her season with a match in number three singles.
