HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Clark University women's tennis team (3-4) closed out spring break with a thrilling 5-4 victory against Buena Vista on Friday morning from Hilton Head.

Doubles: Clark 2, Buena Vista 1

• Sophomore Merielle Kane and first-year Winifred Gakidis recorded an 8-4 victory over Meseck and Fritz.
• Junior Emma Allen and first-year Varvara Maltseva also registered an 8-4 win against Gust and King.
• In number one doubles, sophomore Crisi Patel and first-year Olivia Shipley fell 8-5 to Weller and Macy.

Singles: Clark 3, Buena Vista 3

• Senior Hannah Russo registered a 6-1, 6-1 victory in number one singles against Weller.
• Shipley collected a 6-2, 6-1 win in number four action over Hores.
• Allen also tallied a 6-2, 6-0 victory against King in number six play.
• Kane (7-5), Patel (6-2, 6-0), and Gakidis (6-1, 6-2) also competed in singles action.

The Cougars will open NEWMAC play on Saturday, March 23 when they welcome Salve Regina to the Corash Tennis Courts beginning at 1:00 p.m.
