BRISTOL, R.I. – The Clark University women's tennis team (0-2) competed in their second match of the season on Saturday when they traveled to Roger Williams and dropped the match 7-0 to the Hawks.
Doubles: Roger Williams 3, Clark 0
- In number one doubles, first-year Larkin Gardinier and junior Merielle Kane took a game against Ferraro and Pecora before dropping the match 1-6.
- Junior Crisi Patel and first-year Amanda Keith also won a game in their set against Mancini and Palmieri in number two action, falling 1-6.
- Senior Amy Marin and sophomore Varvara Maltseva fell 0-6 to McCarthy and Petronio in number three play.
Singles: Roger Williams 6, Clark 0
- In number four singles, Maltsava recorded three games won across the two sets, taking two (2-6) in the opening set and one (1-6) in the second set against Mancini.
- Kane won a game in each set as she fell 1-6, 1-6 to Pecora in number two play.
- Keith (No. 3) 1-6, 0-6 and Marin (No. 6) 0-6, 1-6 each took a game in their respective matches.
- Gardinier (No. 1) and Patel (No. 5) also competed in singles for the Cougars.
What's Next
The Cougars will return to the court on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to RIC for a non-conference tilt beginning at 3:30 p.m.
